My hair is definitely over-processed. I do streaks in it, and I do it myself, which always makes it brittle. I have coconut oil here in the house for consumption, so I’m going to give that a try for my hair.

I have a friend who doesn’t “wash” her hair, but she rinses it with water and then she applies essential oils, and I’m telling you, you would think it would look greasy, but her hair looks gorgeous. She has very course hair, very curly, and it really works great for her.

I’m excited to try this! Thanks!

Unfortunately, I can’t use essential oils as I have cats. A lot of them are toxic to cats, especially in diffusers, but I don’t want to chance it. That said, I do use hair products with coconut oil and argan oil in it for moisture. I have very thick hair that used to be oily but I learned that washing it daily was the problem. You’re striping your hair of it’s natural oils every time you wash it, causing more oil production! I cut down washing to twice a week and I NEVER have oily hair now. I also have frizzy hair so using lots of moisturizing products helps that too, plus the oil production. So I definitely recommend coconut or argan oil in hair products. Unfortunately, like I said, I can’t use essential oils. But I can use products with the actual oil contained in less concentrated formulas. Thanks for the informative read!
